What data CareLume stores

CareLume stores the following information you enter:

• Names and contact details of care circle members
• Medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose logs
• Appointment details including dates, locations, providers, and notes
• Task titles, descriptions, and completion records
• Care notes and activity history
• Your notification and display preferences

Where your data is stored and how it syncs

Your care circle's data is stored on your device and synced through Apple iCloud (CloudKit) using your own Apple ID. This is what lets everyone in a care circle see the same up-to-date information across their devices.

Because this data lives in your private iCloud, CareLume's developer does not operate servers that hold it and cannot access it. It is handled under Apple's privacy policy like your other iCloud data.

When you invite someone to a care circle, the circle's information is shared with that person through Apple's secure CloudKit sharing, so they can view or update it according to the role you give them (Coordinator, Helper, Viewer, or the person receiving care). You can remove members or leave a circle at any time from within the app.

Subscriptions

CareLume offers a paid subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription provider. To manage your subscription and verify entitlements, RevenueCat receives limited purchase information and an anonymous app-generated identifier. It does not receive your medication, appointment, or personal care data. See the RevenueCat privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy for details.

Permissions we request

• Notifications — to send medication reminders and appointment alerts. Reminders are scheduled on your device. You control which reminders are active from within the app.
• Camera — used only if you choose to scan an invite QR code or a medication label for faster entry. Images are not stored or transmitted.

You can revoke any permission at any time in iPhone Settings → CareLume.

What we do not do

• We do not run our own servers that store your care data, and we cannot read it.
• We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, and we never share it with third parties beyond what is described above (Apple iCloud for sync, Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions).

Health information

CareLume handles medication and health-related information that you enter. This information is sensitive, and we treat it accordingly: it stays within your private iCloud and the care circle you control.

CareLume is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.

Deleting your data

You can remove individual items (medications, appointments, tasks, members) at any time in the app. Leaving a circle removes it from your device. Because circle data lives in the owner's iCloud, deleting the circle owner's copy and any local copies removes it from CareLume; iCloud data is also subject to your own Apple ID controls.

Children

CareLume is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
